AutoCAD 2008: Associative Hatch
Hello and Welcome Back,
In this session we shall focus on associative hatch option. Well, have you any time used the associative hatch option before hatching your objects or entities. Then its time to see this options now.
AutoCAD 2008, has an option of creating associative hatches - An associative hatch is dynamically updated as and when you change the boundary of the drawing. Hatched areas are generally associative when the option is used. To understand this better, let's consider an example. Create a rectangle of arbitrary sides as shown below
Now Select the Hatch command and click on Add: Pick Point followed by scale [20] and Associative Option and later click within the rectangle
Hatched Rectangle:
Now using the Grips, try to change the orientation of the rectangle, by using the grips, we notice that hatch also belcomes associative.
The above settings are stored in an SYSTEM VARIABLE : HPASSOC
However you can remove these settings or create an NON ASSOCIATIVE HATCH PATTERN when the HPGAPTOL system varilable is set to 0 (by default)
When the hatch is not associative, the figure changes as shown below
See you soon, with another interesting command on AutoCAD 2008,
Thanks
Sunith Babu. L
